Dr. Spicyn serves as Medical Director of HIV Community Health Programs at University of Maryland. She trained in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics in the Johns Hopkins Urban Health residency program, and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Spicyn enjoys collaborating with patients as part of a multi-disciplinary care team, to help folks achieve their best health, overcoming fears, challenges, and discrimination. She has cared for hundreds of individuals living with HIV, struggling with their substance use, and seeking gender-affirming care. Dr. Spicyn was recently recognized by the Daily Record as a 2024 Health Care Hero in the Community Outreach category.

Walker is the lead clinical nurse at Jacques Initiative, working with Dr. Spicyn and Nurse Practitioner Genevieve Beninati to provide compassionate nursing care to patients in the Jacques clinical program. Walker is an out, loud, and proud trans man who is committed to improving the lives of sexual and gender minorities, people living with the challenge of HIV, and anyone who is not adequately served by the healthcare system. Walker is committed to ensuring that every patient feels seen, heard, respected, and supported in reaching their own healthcare goals.
